The idea behind Diptychs is that the two photographs next to one another makes a third. The three photographs are created by the two pictures on their own and then the combination of the two makes a third. The Scottish photographer, Luke Fowler has a fantastic book called 'Two Frame Film'. He experiments with connections between subjects and also how completely different photographs set juxtapose to one another in fact relate.
Osma HarvilahtiOsma Harvilahti's Diptych's show subjects that are completely different but are linked by colour. For example, in image 5 the yellow bottle with the red lid is connected to the striped bus.
